The winner of the boys stocking was Jarrett Hanley. Pictures of remaining prize winners.
15th ANNUAL OLD FASHIONED VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS DOWNTOWN Presented by Massena Downtown Merchants and The Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce Thank you to all who attended the "Victorian Old Fashion Christmas Downtown" on Friday, December 7th. It was a wonderful evening, cold but not extremely cold. Chrismas music and carols played throughout the night. There were a lot of smiling faces around the town, especially when Santa arrived. What would Christmas be without Santa and Mrs. Claus? Many thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus for taking time out of their busy schedules to help us all get in the holiday spirit. Christmas Tree was making sure we remembered how very important her part in Christmas is. Thank you for reminding us how beauitful Christmas trees are. Remember to turn off your lights at home and turn on the tree lights and see how beautiful it really is. Let's not forget the horse drawn wagon rides around the downtown area, what a great time had by all. The nativity was live including the live animals. What about those dancers, how exciting was it watching them perform. Of course we saved the best for last, the lighting of the Christmas tree. The glow of the lights and candles that everyone was holding made it a magical night. Santa & Mrs. Claus
Pictures of the live nativity for you to enjoy.
Our thank you list is long, without the support of the downtown merchants that provided the items for the gift basket drawing and sponsoring of the wagon rides, we could never bring all the things that young and old like to see and do. Thank you to Clopman's, SeaComm, Sullivan's Office Supply and Peets Jewelers for sponsoring the horse drawn wagon rides. Thank you to Main Street Florist, Clopman's, World of Color, Seasons Specialty Gifts, Mark Bodgan, CPA, Rosario's, Novosel Associates, W.L. Smith's, Lasting Memories, Tommy's, Peets Jewelers, Mystic Rays Tanning and The 1902 Hairitage House for the donations for the Gift Basket that was given away Friday night. We also need to thank New Hope Community Church and Tommy's for providing the hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies for everyone to enjoy. Many thanks to Mike and Jeff Darling for leading the caroling at the Town Hall. Thank you for the wonderful music played by Mr. Alderson and the Jr. High Band. Mr. Lincoln's choral group, thank you for singing for us at Seasons Specialty Gifts and at the Veterans Memorial Park Gazebo. Thank you, Cross Current Youth Center for providing holiday carols and hot chocolate throughout the evening. What would Christmas be without a nativity scene? Thank you to Plumbrook Pony Farm for providing the children and live animals. Thank you to Gotta Dance Studios for providing the dance entertainment. Once again, NBT Bank has provided the candles for the candle lighting ceremony; your continuous support of this community is greatly appreciated. Thank you to WMSA/Wild Country for providing the sound system for us to use. Massena Electric, we can not thank you enough for decorating the light poles throughout the town and the Christmas tree in the park. Thank you to the Village of Massena for plowing the park so we could all enjoy the sights and sounds. We also want to thank Mayor Randy Delosh for lighting the tree and Sandy Cook for being the master of ceremonies. Most importantly, thank each and every one of you who braved the cold and enjoyed the festivities. The continued support of the community and sponsors make the Massena Area a wonderful place to live. Wondering who the winner of the gift basket was? It was John Hotte from Brasher. Congratulations again. A very Merry Christmas from all of us.
